“Then peter said. Silver and gold have I none, but, such as I have, give I thee, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bone received strength”.

Innumerable believers in Christ do not know what they have in him at all. Some do know what they have but fail to use it and thereby become unprofitable servants all together. Some do not even have enough to the extent that it can flow from them to others, while very few make use of what they have to the profit of the kingdom of God.

Beloved brethren, you ought to know what you have in Christ as a believer and disciple and also to pursue to possess all that is already made available in Him in order that you may affect your generation for Christ and His Kingdom. Because, we are his body on earth, while He is our head in the heaven- He is our ambassador on the right hand of the father in heaven, and we are His ambassadors on the planet earth. You mustn’t let Him down.

Peter’s authoritative statement in the above scripture proved his conviction in what he knew he had. He was so sure that he has something in Jesus Christ of Nazareth that could make the lame man to rise up and walk. He knew that with what he had possessed in Christ, he could open the heavenly store and receive the lost strength back to the two legs of the lame man. He did, and the man rose and walked just because he (Peter) knew what he had and made use of it. However, the following are how peter and John got what made this man to rise and walk.

The first thing is the revelation of JESUS of Nazareth after His passion. As it is written: “To whom also He showed Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen by them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.”Act 1:3. The verse says “...Jesus Christ showed himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen by them forty days…”

“After His passion” means, after his death, he resurrected and showed Himself alive. They first saw Him dead, and then later, He showed Himself alive. That is where the point is; Unless He shows Himself to you alive, He cannot show Himself through you to the world. Appearance of Jesus Christ to you will make Him appear through you to people’s hopeless problems, and the problems will disappear.

His appearance after His passion was the source of what Peter claimed that he has, that healed this lame man. Listen to what John, the companion of Peter in the healing ministry said. “That which we have SEEN and heard declared we unto you…”Jn. 1:3a.

Peter and John couldn’t have had what they would give to anybody, hadn’t been that they had not seen and heard Him after His passion. John confessed that “that which THEY HAVE SEEN AND HEARD they declared. No wonder Peter and John could declared saying: “Look on us” Acts3:4; then Peter declared saying:…But, such as I have, give I thee, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and work.

The second thing is-

“And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him, with john, said, look on us”. Acts. 3:4
People could look on those that have looked upon Jesus Christ of Nazareth and receive something, from the person that they themselves have looked upon (Jesus) the ultimate source.

It is through looking upon Jesus, I am not talking about looking unto Jesus, as it has different meaning, that He can distribute Himself into you. All the men that God used from the past till date have this experience first, before they could have something they could impact unto humanity. Peter and John couldn’t have been able to say “Look on us” if they had not looked upon Jesus first of all. He had distributed Himself into them during those forty days of visible manifestation of Himself to the Apostles. They had first of all looked upon Him, after His passion, for forty days, before they themselves could begin to say “Look on us” and that people began to receive something from Jesus through them.

John, the Apostle and the companion of Peter in the healing ministry said, in his own account thus: “that which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon …” Jn. 1:1. Looked upon whom? It is upon Jesus Christ of Nazareth of cause.

The issue of looking upon Jesus Christ cannot be over emphasized, as that is the place where they derived what they declared they have. “But, such as I have, give I thee……” Mind you, it is not that They just glanced at Jesus, but that they paid full attention to Him to look upon Him. It is through this process that Jesus Christ our Lord distributed Himself into them. Therefore, apart from your daily prayer, always find a quality time to spend with Jesus Christ our Lord to look upon Him, with all concentration, and I assure you, that you will not come out the same, “we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the spirit of the Lord “(2 Cor. 3:18). You are changed by what you behold always.

The third thing is:

Hearing Him speaking to us until we are able to be conformed to His image is another thing. His word is not different from Him. Christ enters into one easily through His living word. His words put fire into our spirit. “And they said to one another, did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us along the way, and while he opened to us the scripture? (Lk. 24:32). Christ’s word through His spirit drives Holy Fire into human spirit. That is why, when He showed Himself alive to the Apostles for forty days. He kept on speaking things pertaining to the kingdom of God.

“……. Being seen by them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: for good forty days Jesus Christ was busy driving into their spirit man, Holy Fire, by consistently speaking to them. No wonders they were able to turn the world of that time around, and the then enemies of the gospel felt it and they commented saying: “these that have turned the world upside down are come here also”, Act 17:6.
There is nothing that you cannot turn around when you are turned by His words.

If you seek Him, you will find Him, He will show Himself unto you that you may look upon Him and hear Him when He speaks to you. It is written, “……. And the word was God…… in Him was life……” (Jn. 1:1, 4). He distributed Himself, His life, into His children through the words that He would speak unto them. This is where these Apostles had got what they claimed they have. They said “But, Such as I have ……,” if you yourself desire to have, and to be able to say… “Such as I have, give I thee”, in order to make something happen in the life of people for the sake of the kingdom of God. You have to desire and determine like Elisha who said”….. As the lord liveth and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee…..” (II Kings 2:2)

This simply means to hook on to God in His presence, not to always be in a hurry when it comes to fellowship with God and His Spirit, until you have received something great to offer your generation from the Father. You must not be expecting something tangible to happen through you, if you know how to be in a hurry in His presence. You can have divine presents, when you spend quality time in His presence.
