Here in the darkness just before dawn
The air is so cold;
The streets wreathed in silence
Stretch dark and empty;
All is so still.
Can it be true that morning is near
Or is it a dream?
Somewhere within me
A tiny voice whispers:
Morning will come.
Then all the shadows will fast disappear,
Darkness will flee;
Sunlight will clothe
The world in her radiance,
A new day begin.
