Ode to winter in Iowa
My lovely home in the midwest
Though it's flat and full of corn and pigs
It's the place I like the best
When the final leaves of autumn descend
And kiss the cold hard earth
And the first snowflakes drift down from above
The arrival of winter fills me with mirth
Winter, my favorite season of all
A white wonderland from summer severed
And in this grand state of Iowa
It seems to last forever
Though not as cold as North Dakota
Greenland or Alaska
It's just cold enough for my enjoyment
Much more than you could ever aska
The frigied air fills up my lungs,
along with the fragrance of car exhaust
It blows up my nostrils and into my eyes,
covers my eyebrows with lovely frost
The cold wind nips at my tender face
like a cuddly wolverine
And a runny nose makes my mucous freeze
and turns my upper lip a yellow-green
The ice can be a lot of fun
when you slip and fall on your back
And shoveling endless loads of snow
Of the white stuff there is no lack
The pleasures of winter do not end here
That just would not suffice
We cannot forget the frequent joys
Of scraping the windows off your ice
And speaking of cars, another task I love
To start it early in the morning
If I get lucky every once in a while
It will die on me without warning
Blizzards are a beautiful scene
When white is all you can see
And vehicles slide or move around slowly
The people always look so happy
I hear the christmas songs of winter romance
Sleigh rides and a warm cozy fire
I've yet to have a girlfriend to share it with
No worries of manners to acquire
Though I do not believe that global warming
is caused by the actions of man
It would be a real shame to have a hot winter
And receive a late year tan
Who needs the summer and it's unbearable heat
Swimming and walking in shorts
Sleeping outside, running around
Camping and playing outdoor sports
Spring is just too cheerful
Full of too many flowers and rain
Fall is still too warm and bright
What else is there to explain?
Snow, snow, snow, snow, snow, snow, snow
Snow, snow, snow, snow, snow
Snow, snow, snow, snow, snow, snow, snow
Snow, snow, snow, snow, snow
Ice, ice, ice, ice, ice, ice, ice
Ice, ice, ice, ice, ice
Ice, ice, ice, ice, ice, ice, ice
Ice, ice, ice, ice, ice
Ode to winter in Iowa
You make my weary heart sing
I can wait several months, as long as it takes
To return to the sorrows of spring

Hey, I just had to read this one. Hopefully your love for winter is irony! :) One line was a little gross, but still pretty descriptive. All in all, it was a great poem.
