Exodus 19:10-11, “And the Lord said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you and believe you forever. And Moses told the words of the people unto the Lord. 11-(God said) And be ready against the third day: for the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon Mount Sinai.”
Exodus 20:18-21, “And all the people saw the thunderings and the lightenings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking and when the people saw it, they removed (moved away) and stood afar off. 19-And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest (for fear) we die. 20-And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove (test) you, and that His fear may be before your faces, that you sin not. 21-And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.”
Just as God wanted the Israelite’s to come to His holy mountain, He’s calling His people today, in this hour to come to His holy mountain (the holy of holies). God only wanted to share His heart with these chosen people but they purposely moved away from that kind of intimacy. God’s children are doing the same thing today. Jesus told us in Matthew 6:33, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.”
Much of the Church is still standing afar off from God, wanting somebody else to give us the ’word’ instead of us seeking God for His Word ourselves. Meanwhile, He beckons, ‘come to my holy mountain.’ Are we seeking God and His Kingdom first in this present day of our lives? God is calling His people to come into that most holy place to commune with Him in this hour so we‘ll be prepared for what is yet to come upon the earth.
He wants us to come into that abiding place and be next to His heart where He is drawing us by His Spirit. Are you seeking to know God’s heart? Do you have a desire to come to God’s holy mountain and spend time in His glorious presence? That's what our heavenly Father longs for all His children to do. A lot of people will answer His call to come, while many other’s will continue to stand afar off. Which group will you be in?
Just as Moses told the people then, God says now to all who desire to come to His holy mountain, “Fear not.” God doesn’t want you to be afraid of Him with the worlds kind of fear. He’s not given us a spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Tim.1:7). To fear the Lord is to reverence Him. To honor Him with the highest respect. To esteem Him above ALL else. To be in awe of the magnificence, the pure majesty of God. The Church today has forgotten how to fear the Lord. But to “fear the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” And yes, we are coming back to the place where we will once again reverence the Lord as the great God Jehovah.
The Lord says, “I will lead you by My Spirit to My holy mountain. I will lead you there one step at a time. I will direct your every step. And as I do, have faith and know that each step will be sure footing on a solid foundation. It will be the foundation of My Word and My love for you.”
The Lord says, “Do not fear, but have faith that you can come to My holy mountain. Don’t be impatient and don’t be discouraged if you encounter obstacles along the way. Know that not anything can ever separate you from My love. It is My strong desire for you to come and commune with Me in the secret place to know My heart beat. I long to fellowship with you and share Myself with you. I desire to impart upon your spirit from the depths of My heart (deep calls unto deep).
“My children, as you begin the journey to My holy mountain, keep your eyes directed at Me. Allow nothing to distract your eyes from Me. Don’t look to the left or to the right. Don’t look backward but keep focused on what is before you.”
I heard the Lord say that we need to stay focused on the Lord Jesus, as we continue to move toward the glory. And with our eyes on Him, the Lord said, we are to keep stepping toward the wonderful peace and joy of His presence. He said, “You will get there to Mt holy mountain.”
THE PURIFYING FIRE:
As you begin to praise and worship God for Him alone, you will sense some things in your spirit that you haven‘t sensed or experienced before. Just as there was a preparation period before the Israelites were to come to God’s holy mountain, so there is a preparation period for you and I as well. You will experience a degrees of God’s purifying fire before you get to the mountain (the holy of holies). And once you come into His awesome presence, you can expect more purifying fire that awaits you. His grace will help you to endure the intensity and the fullness of joy in His presence will be so glorious.
The waiting time before you finally get to the holy mountain with God will be a relatively short time. Why is that? Because we’re in the third day of the Church and it’s almost time for Jesus to come back to this earth for His purified and holy Bride who will be without spot, wrinkle or blemish. In Matthew 3:11, John the Baptist said, “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He that comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire.”
The Holy Spirit is doing His purifying work in the lives of God’s people today because we must be ready for the rapture. He sits as a Refiner for those who are willing to submit themselves to His loving hand to be made pure as gold. For gold in the natural to be pure, it must go through the jeweler’s refining fire. This is a time when God is filling His people with His glory, but know this, it doesn’t come cheap, There is a cost but what waits on the mountain in intimate communion with Jesus is WELL worth whatever the cost is. Hallelujah!
As you seek after God with your whole heart through His Word, through prayer and worship, you’ll begin to sense that God is already putting His fire (power) in you. And if you won’t allow yourself to be distracted to what God is desiring to do in your heart, the fire He’s putting in you will cause you to become radically bold as a witness for Him. Jesus is coming back for a GLORIOUS Church! Praise God! It's time for God’s people to become so filled with His glory so as to become radical for Jesus! Amen! The world is radical for satan, whether they realize it or not, so why isn’t the Church radical for Jesus?
To become radical first it will require us to dwell in His presence, not just visit once in a while. And as we do, we will become so full of the Holy Spirit’s fire and love that it will spill over to other people. You’ll be so radically changed by the (third day) power of Almighty God and by His love, that hungry people who desperate for a touch from Jesus, will be drawn to Jesus IN YOU! You will be able to boldly lead these people to Jesus because you too know what it’s like to be so desperately hungry for God. How will you be able to understand their hunger if you’ve never experienced this kind of hunger yourself?
A NEW PASSION:
As you continue persuing God and you get to His holy mountain, you will sense a new passion growing in your heart for Jesus and all that pertains to Him that wasn’t there before. People who know you will be amazed at the radical change in you. They will recognize God’s glory coming from the inside of you to the outside. The more light of God’s glory you have in you by His Word, and walking in it (practicing it), through prayer and worship, the less darkness there will be in your soul. When the light of God’s fire and glory comes into your heart, the darkness has to go!
You’re not as far away from God’s holy mountain as you may think, so keep pressing to get to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Phil.3:14-15). Through the eyes of your heart, see yourself there with Father God, Who has you wrapped in the cacoon of His love. Don’t give up, break--through is almost here for you. If you will get still and know that He is God, you’ll be able to sense God’s nearness now. You’ll sense by the Holy Spirit that you’re so close already to God’s wonderful presence. You’re so close that if you listen, you can hear Him whisper your name.
Once you set your face like flint to go after the heart of God and to dwell in His intimate presence, nothing can stop you. No demon of hell, or any of Satan’s tricks will be able to keep you from getting to God, your heavenly Father. The Holy Spirit is right by your side, helping you to take each step making sure your footing is on a solid foundation as you make your way.
The Lord says in His Word, “Draw nigh unto Me, and I will draw nigh unto you.” He express’s His longing for His sons and daughters to come into His presence on His Mountain (holy of holies). Therefore, as long as you’re obeying His command to syep out in faith to come, He’s going to protect you and see to it that you get to that place of intimate communion with Him. And the devil cannot stop you!
“Submit yourselves unto God, resist the devil (with the Word, prayer, the blood, the name of Jesus, worship) and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). Let me say again, that we need to be like Paul who said, “This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, I press toward the mark for the price of the high calling of God, in Christ Jesus” (Phil.3:14-15). We are pressing toward the ‘glory.’ And when you’re pressing toward the glory, you’re pressing toward God Himself because you can’t have the glory without His presence.
You can’t separate God and His glory any more than you can separate Him from His Word. He is the Word, and He is the glory and Jesus Christ is awesome in all of His glory. Just ask John when He saw Jesus in a vision on the isle of Patmos. John described Jesus as being, “a fire from the lions down and a fire from the lions up.” This was the only way He knew how to describe Jesus in all of His glory. Hallelujah to God forevermore!
