Psalm 1251
Down here in this chaos
encouragement is so hard to find.
Everyday life brings mockings and ridicule
and life becomes so much more discouraging
when such things come from a loved one
a member of your own family
causing painful tears to fall.
But in these tears I’m reminded, Father,
Though my father and mother forsake me,
the Lord will receive me. (Psalm 27:10)
Help me remember Your love for me, Father,
that I may disconnect this feeling of discouragement
from Your assurance of love,
for not to do so can cause me doubt Your love,
and I have at times.
You are the source of my greatest help.
Knowing that You love me, Father,
makes all that I go through down here okay,
so I push onward knowing and believing
that those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. (Psalm 126:5)
Lift up my head and glorify Yourself,
that Your will may be done.
I ask this in Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty,
Who was, and is, and is to come.
