Beneath the grave was my destination
Committed to life’s damnation
I saw the one called “hope” last,
The moments before my birth.
Thus from on set of chance, was my sentence
Into the realm called “eternal damnation”.
Why! I asked with rain of tears!
I was dragged angrily along
Into the journey I did not rehearsed
“Your parent made the choice”
Said the cruel monster!
I needed to be told the nature of the journey
But no one did.
Along was a smiling, gentle man
Who intercepted the cruel monster?
And He asked “son”
“Will you go with me?”
No promise, no boasting
Simply “come with me” He said
His words wrapped with hopeful smile;
When life was almost off me.
I was under a burden beyond my age
Staring at the scarce smile of life
In the face of the gentle man.
I ran with the heavy burden
And He led a different journey
A relief!
How and when my load rolled away
I cannot say
But I felt lighter and peace within me reign.
I was told; He paid to ransome me,
To have change my course in life,
This is transaction of love,
Authored by Christ.
