The Bible
The Greatest Book That Has Ever Been Written

The Bible is the greatest book in the whole world. Its pages are filled with life. Because its words were breathed by the Holy Spirit, its message is deathless, its commands changeless, and its truth timeless. Jesus, who is our Life, pledges His personal presence in His Word. He Himself said,

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, [they] are spirit, and [they] are life” (John 6:63).

The Bible is a book for all occasions:
The brokenhearted find solace as they meditate on it, and the thirsty drink in the water of life.

The hungry soul satisfies himself,

And the questioner discovers the solution to his problem.

The bereaved and the comfortless sense His everlasting arms surrounding them.

The weak discovers strength, and the poor partake of the unsearchable riches in Christ.

Sages must lay aside their earthly wisdom at the feet of the Word of God to apprehend its true wisdom and knowledge.

The troubled soul finds peace that passes all understanding, and the suicidal embraces the Prince of Life within its pages.

The sick find the Great Physician, the Son of righteousness rising with healing in His wings. The lonely discover in its pages a Friend at all times.

The widow finds her Husband,

And the orphan finds the Father of the fatherless who never dies.

The depressed soul discovers in its commandments joy unspeakable that dispels the agony of pain within,

And the bound realize the truth that sets them free.

The outcast finds a city of refuge, and the unloved meets the God of love.

The politician beholds the Desire of all nations in its constitution, and the unlearned receives the knowledge of the Holy.

We stand defenseless against he attack of the enemy of our soul, but the Word in our hands becomes the Flaming Sword of the Spirit that is sharper than any two-edged sword. It goes in every direction to pierce the power of darkness.

Its truth purifies the soul; Its statutes gladden the heart; Its law converts the soul; Its testimony imparts wisdom; Its command enlightens the eyes.

The Book of Love

It is a book of love written by God to a sinful world.

It is the revelation of God to man and contains the plan of salvation.

It is our guide to knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It is the legacy that Jesus Christ bequeaths to the Church.

Its promises are true. Its doctrine is infallible and inerrant; its warnings are to be taken seriously.

It has been the court of appeal throughout the history of God’s people. Every doctrine and conduct must rise or fall before it.

It is the judge of heresies and the justifier of sound doctrine.

It will remain throughout eternity, even when heaven and earth cease to exist. Its message will continue shining with a divine glow, bubbling with divine energy and pulsating with the life of its Author - the Almighty God.
