My Grown-Up Birthday Poem

With age comes wisdom,
Some wiseacres say,
But not when your back hurts
And memory fails.

With age comes experience,
I know that is true!
I am working 30 years
And it makes me old too…

No, I am just kidding!
I love being a nurse,
Bedpans and urinals-
I don’t mind for some cash.

With age comes beauty
You learn which face cream works
To cover those age spots,
And which hair dye to use.

Beauty is skin deep
Though face starts to sag,
They say what matters most
Is the love in your heart.

Who cares if they say
I’m getting kind of old?
I thank God for each day,
I live for His purpose.

Praise God for all His blessings flow..
(And for more “blessings” coming my way :) )

It’s never too late to be what you might have been. For me, life has just begun!

You are only as old as you feel, Gloria. And with age comes wisdom. You patients--most of them--look at you with admiration as you serve them each day. The patients can sense a caring attitude. So go ahead, get older--it beats the alternative. Age is an attitude...I think of you as young...God bless you in your nursing ministry...Helen

Hi Sweetheart, you know when people get to know a person, they hardly ever think of age, at least I don't. I imagine most of your patients just see a beautiful woman taking care of them for which they are so grateful. Your beauty just flows right into each one of your articles. I love you, sharon
