There was a Gift left for each of us under the Tree of Life over 2, 000 years ago....
by Him Who's Birthday we will celebrate next week.
That Gift was made possible by:
The Incarnation (the real meaning of Christmas)
The Crucifixion (the real meaning of Good Friday)
The Resurrection (the real meaning of Easter)
Jesus is the gift that perfectly fits the size of every heart.
This gift is withheld from NO ONE, but some have left the package unclaimed.
Some have accepted The Gift, but then carry it around....
failing to remove the wrappings and look inside to discover the Hidden Splendor.
The packages are all alike - wrapped up in Jesus Christ, Who is:
In each package is written, "All that the Father has is thine....take and live!"
A quote from Our Daily Bread:
'God's gift of Himself to us, is a present we will be unwrapping always'.
It's hard to understand why some people celebrate Christmas,
yet do not accept the Christ of CHRISTmas as Savior and Lord.
He is either Lord....or He's a liar....or a lunatic. You must decide.
Many intend to accept The Gift, but never get around to it.
Remember the old saying:
'The road to hell is paved with good intentions and by the road of by and by...
you reach the house of never'.
The big problem seems to be excuses, which lead to delay, which leads to eternal regrets. Excuses are 'reasons with holes in them' and God sees right through them.
There wasn't much room for Jesus that first Christmas.
La Moyne has sung this thought-provoking song many times:
'Have You Any Room For Jesus?"
(by C.C. Williams)
"Have you any room for Jesus?
He who bore your load of sin?
As He knocks and asks admission,
Sinner, will you let Him in?
Room for pleasure, room for business,
But for Christ the Crucified,
Not a place that He can enter,
In the heart for which He died.
Have you any room for Jesus?
As in grace He calls again.
O, today is time accepted,
Tomorrow you may call in vain.
Room and time now give to Jesus,
Soon will pass God’s day of grace;
Soon thy heart left cold and silent,
And thy Saviour’s pleading cease.
Room for Jesus, King of glory!
Hasten now, His word obey;
Swing the heart’s door widely open,
Bid Him enter while you may."
For a person to say, "I have no room for Jesus" is like:
~the ocean saying that it has no room for the tide
~or the atmosphere having no room for air
~or the forests having no room for trees.
Jesus is NOT an elective, He is a Requirement
He is not a luxury....He is an Essential.
Augustine said, "Man is restless and will stay that way until he finds his rest in Christ."
A missionary who was teaching some unbelievers about the truth of the Resurrection of Christ said,
"Say I am traveling and come to a place where two roads meet.
I look for a guide and see two men: one dead....and the other alive.
Whom should I ask for direction, the dead or the living?"
"The living of course" the people replied.
The missionary answered,
"Then why direct anyone to someone who is dead, instead of Christ Who is alive?"
Jesus is the Reason for the Season because He IS CHRISTmas!
"The wonder of Christmas is that the God who dwelt among us now can dwell within us." (by Roy Lessin)
Please let Him be Savior and Lord of your life EVERY day!
May all that He is...
bring you all that you need....
and throughout the New Year.
