For six weeks I have been
Picking up pecans
One by one, even up until today
December sixteenth, two thousand eight
Already I have given so many away
I have probably picked up
Six gallon by now, but that’s o.k.
I promised God they would be
Used to celebrate Jesus’ birthday
In fifteen years there never has been
A bumper crop like this
So I say “Thank you Lord”
For sending blessings this way
Reminds me of when Joseph
Lived in Egypt and they
Had seven years of plenty
And grain to store and save
The next seven years this
Abundant crop fed many
Including his family
A blessing from God
Thank you Lord for my
Abundant supply, I
Feel joy when I give
Just as Joseph must have felt
Next year I may not have any
Pecans on my trees
But this year there has been plenty
That has allowed me
To give ,show love, and witness
For thee...Lord
