The Mistletoe was positioned
The lights twinkled bright
Every child seemed conditioned
It was "Christmas Eve" night
Snow fell softly, to the ground
Each flake, was spinning about
Little ears listened for a "Sleigh" sound
Or Santa's . . . Ho, Ho, Ho shout
Mom and dad were busy below
With so much left, to do . . .
Making sure everything was set
For children's wishes, to come true
Yet . . .I can not help but wonder
How many children had been taught
That this was "Jesus' Birthday"
Why He came, and what He brought
Do they know He came for sinners
To save us . . .And set us free
That He came to pay the "Ransom"
And would hang upon, a rugged tree
No it would not be a "Christmas Tree"
All sparkling, and shining so bright
But a tree, where He would sacrifice
His life. . . For our Heavenly flight
Yes, Jesus brought us a wonderful "Gift"
Like none, that could ever compare
And this day, His name we should lift
For loving us enough, our sins, to bear
So, while telling stories about "Santa"
Making kids so happy, they could burst
Let them know the reason for the season
And who . . They should remember FIRST!
