Sunshine and shadow, in conflict, it seems,
As they struggle and try to control a man's dreams;
But destiny's more than a matter of light;
It's how hard and how long a man's willing to fight!
When one walks in the sunshine, all going his way;
It's hard to imagine a shadowy day!
Then the shadows may deepen, the sun disappears,
And a man's forced to face all the darkness he fears.
So sunshine AND shadow co-exust in a life;
Not ALWAYS enlightened, nor darkened with strife;
Yet the shadows that threaten to tear us apart
Can be dealt with each day if the Son's in our heart!
