Psalm 1248
I thought You hated a haughty tongue, Father,
and I thought you destest the way of the wicked
and all their thoughts.
What about the false witnesses who speak lies?
I thought You hated them too with their proud looks,
but I see them all lifted up while they sow discord.
Thieves are at peace,
yet look at those who do their best to seek You,
each day I wake to get trampled down again,
and again, and again.
My strength fails me, I have none,
it is all in You,
and You seem so far away from me.
WHY?!?
Is this what You are all about?
To get someone to come close to You,
only to let them down?
l'm sorry, Father,
but I don't see anymore blessings.
My trouble brings mockings from those at ease,
and a shove to the ground from them when I stumble,
my esteem is shattered into pieces to small to put back together.
I've gone through life believing You've sent me where I've gone
and each place I've been - I'm sent away feeling smaller than before.
I'm beginning to believe I'm happiest when I think of nothing at all.
You know I do my best to share what little joy I hold onto.
in the face of being ridiculed indescreetly, I don't talk back,
I go about my work, and do my best to smile,
Yet it keeps coming, wave after wave after wave,
When will it stop?
I'm tired of running.
Why should I run when I'm doing my best to follow You?
Why should I go away and those who don't even recognize You stay where they are?
They say God, Lord, and the Man Upstairs, when they act like they recognize You,
Surely You can see the injustice and You know everyone's intent -
so where are You?
I'm having a hard time seeing You right now,
and I'm having a hard time finding joy in this trouble,
it is being drained from me.
Refresh my spirit and show Yourself, please,
and give me eyes to see,
I ask this in Jesus' name,
Amen.
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty,
Who was, and is, and is to come.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
