This glorious, auspicious, and exciting Christian faith we're so proud and confident to profess today, was born on the table of sacrifice. Men and women of like passion and faith foresaw the great and eternal opportunity to partake and invest in God's magnificent agenda on earth that guarantees present and eternal rewards! Mk.10:29, 30.
Many went beyond giving their financial and material resources, and even sacrificed their lives! Like Jesus Christ our Lord and Stephen, they were too sure of the glorious, superior and peaceful rewards beyond life, that they prayed God to forgive their blood thirsty killers! Acts 7:59. The first century Christians didn't mind being driven from the comfort of their homes, businesses, and society, to disseminate God's Word in foreign lands! Acts 8:1-8.
If it took so much sacrifice to get this wonderful and powerful gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to us, what are we sacrificing and investing to get our generation and the one after us, this eternal gospel?
One of the most intimidating, destructive, and yet very subtle product of fear, is selfishness. The convenience and safety of pleasing and satisfying me, me, and me alone! "It's rather very difficult to put others first when my needs are piled up to the sky!" I hear some protest. But believe me that could possibly be the reason those needs seem insoluble! You see, God is very responsible and highly organized. He created you and so provides for you through other people.
Consequently, He'll meet your needs as you reach out to refresh and meet people's needs. Prov.11:25. Being prayerful fine-tunes our hearts to discern accurately and promptly the needs of others. Being generous is the proof that we're in partnership with God. Generous, sacrificial giving is a notable Christian virtue and heritage. If you wait to be asked to give, you have waited too long! If you give grudgingly like Cain, you've given to yourself and not to God! And if you give sparingly when you know you can give bountifully, you've just lost another great investment opportunity! 2Cor.9:6-15.
God's perfect will is for His precious, purposeful, and powerful Words to cover the earth as the water covers the sea! Be a part of this auspicious, glorious, and enormous capital intensive heavenly vision. Reciprocate by supporting any channel God is using to get His promises to bless, encourage, and strengthen you. Don't assume all is going well, take the initiative and ask how you can support and share of this unique investment opportunity of eternal rewards.
Do it by faith, pleasing God who will always provide for you to give. Spread your net very wide! Starting now and from somewhere is the best way to start, and then watch as you begin to grow miraculously! Job 8:7. Now remember, that you're blessed to be a blessing! Acts 10:1-4; Lk.7:1-10; Lk.6:38.
Have an amazing weekend in God's awesome presence.
