With a handful of twigs
I sat wondering what to make
That would be good enough
To give on Christmas day
My mind drifted to this little ladder
Made for you
The first twig down
Was the beginning of things
The second twig down
Division it brings
When I put the third twig in place
It brings it together between the space
The three become one
In the ladder I'm working on
Fullness of the Godhead
Our Lord is of whom I speak
Divine perfection, complete
Fourth twig down
Creation is coming about
The fifth twig is between God and man
Favour to the unworthy
Grace on which we stand
The sixth twig is the number of man
And the days of his labor appointed Him
There is no seventh twig
For God did rest
Spiritual perfection
Total completeness !!

Every Christmas I make something to give out on the mountain and a poem to go with it. A keepsake or to put on the tree. This year was a ladder made of twigs.
