Do We Really Listen?
When we write a poem or story
Do we listen to what we say?
Or do we just put our pen down
And then get up and walk away?
If we write to teach a lesson
Then do we learn it just as well?
Or do we try making others…
Feel if they don't they'll go to hell?
Since we are simply a pen that,
The Lord holds tightly in His hand;
We must make sure to not only
Write the words but to understand.
Whatever words the Lord would have
Written in a poem or story,
We should write them in a way
That gives Him the praise and glory.
A writer’s joy comes from knowing
They’re a pen God uses to write;
Although sometimes when not in use
We’re put away and out of sight.
Each time our Father picks us up
He treats us as one of a kind.
As a pen the ink inside is…
The knowledge we have in our mind,
When a pen's being used by God
You’ll find its ink never runs dry;
Don't let Him use your knowledge and,
Very soon He won’t even try.
If we don't let God use our gifts
To glorify His holy name;
He’ll give them to another and
We’ll be the only ones to blame.
If He gave you a gift to use,
You’ll find you’re constantly stressing;
If you don’t give it back to Him
To use as a special blessing.
