THE MESSAGE
There is a message that surrounds me,
In the mundane and natural activities of an ordinary day.
I am awakened by its boisterous cry,
When the dawn beats the drum of the rising sun.
I read the words when the parched African soil,
Drinks every blessing of every rain drop with utmost relish.
It whispers to me when the stars in perfect alignment,
Illuminate the earth with their resplendent attires of light.
It constantly craves my unreserved attention, shouting,
The sun, the rain, the sky, every part of nature,
Shares one theme with different messages,
Sings one song with different parts.
Every part of nature is unique,
Every part of nature celebrates its distinctive wonder.
So why should I wish I were someone else?
Why should the elegantly clad beauty queen despise her Charming and charismatic personality?
Yearning for the mesmerizing voice of the plain lady.
Why should the gifted lady undermine her ear-soothing voice?
Craving the uncommon beauty of the charming queen,
When each of us has a special part in the grand design,
When each of us is a significant tool in the Maker’s Hand,
When each of us is a matchless masterpiece.

I loved the message you portrayed in this poem. It has taken me a long time to realize that God loves me just the way he made me. I am so relieved to know that I no longer have to squeeze myself into some pre made mold of the perfect cookie cutter Christian. We are all unique and have been made this way in order to fullfill the will of our father. If we try to be somebody else we will miss what we've been called to be.
Thank your for calling attention to this problem. I hope your poem will go on to inspire others to have the courage to be themselves. Well done!
