In Darkness I stand sometimes with fear
and feeling I'm left all alone witht he enemy,
crushing my mind with crashing waves of life,
I am beaten.
Some wait for me to fall away from You,
O Lord, who art The Rock and my foundation.
In this darkness Your word gives light,
serving as a beacon for all who are of You,
we listen and we follow.
I am grateful for every wave,
thrown at me by my adversaries,
for with each push I am led toward you,
and made stronger through acceptance,
and by not returning evil for evil.
I am tried, Father, again and again,
I am tested and pushed to become like them
and unlike you.
In Your Word I am reminded:
Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come
and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one
spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, and not in
any way be terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition,
but to you of salvation, and that from God.
Through Your word I am given strength,
to withstand everything thrown my way.
And I ask Father,
May Your word gather Your severants,
and provide us shelter during this storm.
Let not the enemy prevail against us.
I ask this in Jesus' name,
Amen.
