'Re 9-11-01..Vengeance Is MINE!'

"Vengeance Is MINE!" Our God declared.
"This, too, shall I repay.
Those lost to YOU..who walked with ME
Walk Golden Stairs today.
"Their races run..their battles won;
Their shattered bodies well,
They came through Life,
They came through Death
(A brief, and man-made Hell!)
"Yet, through your tears, and through your pain
There's stronger, still, than grief
The thought that vengeance, of itself,
Will bring a sweet relief.
"But it is MINE..yea Mine, alone,
True justice to dispense.
YOUR finite minds, and puny strengths
Command NO recompense.
Your sacred ire..your many tears
May pacify a while
And some degree of suffering
MAY erase another's smile.
Proceed with caution, lest your schemes
Reopen wounds..now healed;
Create a hollow victory
With further loss revealed.
"In days long past, I lost MY Son
Who came, true Life to bring,
Then, Pilate had his day in court
He stood before his King!
In My Own time...and of My will
My justice I'LL impart;
So weep and hurt but through it all
Keep VENGEANCE from your heart."
On 9-16-01, five days after the tragedies of 9-11, I wrote this analysis of the temperament of the times. Seemingly, the call to vengeance HAS prevailed...the 'hollow victory' has been realized...and the 'further loss' is being revealed daily.
