My son, pay attention to what I say and act on what I tell you. Always keep my advice in mind and hide my words in your heart. These words are lessons from this life that I have lived. Follow the good and learn from my mistakes. They will enable you to lead a healthy, happy existence.
Be very careful to protect your heart from the evils and temptations of this world, for you will face many issues throughout your life. There will be those who are evil, but speak good things. These things which they speak, come from the heart and they can corrupt a man. The mind is capable of evil thoughts. Keep yourself from speaking dishonest words and thinking dishonest thoughts. Stay away from those who are unreasonable and dishonest.
Keep your eyes straight ahead and focus on what is good and true. Think about the roads you are traveling and the paths you are taking through your life. Cling to what is right and do not waver from it. When you stumble, get back up and allow God to heal your pain. Let Him carry you onward. Do not turn to the right or the left, even if it seems to be a shortcut through life. Stay focused and keep walking straight ahead. Do not follow in the footsteps of those who do evil.
