The Decision
Glorious God so far above
Still you reach down and give me your love
How could I dare look down on another
Aren't all of mankind my sisters and brothers
Who am I to think that I'm better
Weighed down by bitterness locked in my fetters
Here I am drowning in my hurt and my pain
Devoid of all mercy what could I gain
But a life full of anger,fear and regret
Oh how soon, I too forget
That I once was lost and forgiven by Christ
My blackness was traded for a soul clean and white
So here I now sit with tears in my eyes
Knowing quite clearly I've been living a lie
Pretending to be a disciple of God
My love of myself and my God were clearly at odds
Stunned by my failure my head hangs in shame
Tears fall like rain as I call out your name
Please Lord change the state of my heart
So the love of mankind never departs
From my heart, from my soul, help me hold them dear
Bringing my closer to you through the years
