“ Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4: 6-7
Someone once said that peace is not the absence of conflicts, but the presence of God no matter what the conflict.
But how do we invite God in the midst of our stressful life? Do we just pray, let God do the rest and do nothing?
The peace is won by accompanying God into the battle.
We must have partnership with God by doing our part, and by praying from a grateful heart.
According to Philippians 4:6-7, there are three things we must do to have a victorious peaceful life:
First, do not be anxious about anything at all, no matter how big the problem is. Easier said than done, but it can be done. God is much bigger than your problems.
Second, be thankful for everything. Even trials can bring blessings if we submit to the will of God.
Third, present your requests to God. Pray not only for yourself but for others. When we pray from the heart, God not only hears us but we feel His loving and peaceful Presence.
Our Dear Merciful and Loving God, thank You for Your assurance that You will never leave us nor forsake us. You are always Faithful and True. You are our greatest Help in times of need. Please give us wisdom and strength because we know that we are nothing without You. Forgive us for those times when we rely in our limited abilities instead of depending on what You can do. In You there is peace, there is joy, there is rest. May Your will be done in our lives. In Jesus Name, Amen.
“Thank God for dirty dishes; they have a tale to tell.
While other folks go hungry, we’re eating pretty well.
With home, and health, and happiness, we shouldn’t want to fuss;
For by this stack of evidence, God’s very good to us.”
May the peace of God coming from a thankful heart be with you today and always!
Dear Gloria... This was excellent! What wonderful words of wisdom! At this time of year when we are focused on giving thanks, your words help us to see that the REAL focus of our Thanksgiving should be on GOD and His role in our lives. You're so right - our job is to praise Him, give thanks to Him and then really 'talk' to Him about areas where we need help from Him and then allow Him to do His wonderful work in our lives. Thank you for this uplifting message, Sis. God bless you. Love, Peggy
