Hold Your torch up high and light my way
In the dark, before the break of day.
Wipe away the slumber from my eyes
And help me search for clouds in my own skies.
Reveal the things that I need to see,
Whether they are ugly or pretty.
I honestly want to know the truth
Of all I need to repent from my youth.
I want the paths between You and me
To be straight and to give me liberty.
I don't want any hidden sins
To be lurking somewhere deep within.
I know that I can always come
To You with whatever wrong I've done,
And You will accept my honest regret,
Give mercy, grace, forgiveness, and forget.
In Jesus' blood I have been washed clean,
Been bought and paid for and redeemed.
To my Savior I give all my thanks
And join the other saints within the ranks.
For the Holy One has set me apart,
Chosen me even from the start,
In the Lamb's Book of Life my name is written
And by Satan I will not be smitten.
