Do we Still Believe in Living Holy?
“Be not conformed to this word, but Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
The other day I was reading an interesting article about a well known Christian, who was publicizing the fact, she was moving in with her boyfriend. She wanted to make sure that she ready for marriage after being hurt from a long term marriage.
The Bible is clear when it states, do not be conformed to the patterns of this world. But every day we conform to the patterns and lifestyles of the world image of what is right and wrong.
When two people make a decision to live be with one another forever. As believers, who put God in the center of our lives. It is a leap of faith, and a covenant between two people. But because of fear and hurt, we are allowing ourselves to enter an unholy covenant, and spreading it like it is the truth. We hide our fears under the guise of a relationship, and sometimes wonder when it doesn’t work put. We never ponder the question: Where was God in this decision? How would it affect our children? Is my light still shining? What kind of testimony am I giving to those who are watching me?
Our children and those who look up to us, sees the pattern of the decision which are made out of fear and not talking to God. They are doomed for disaster. Not only that, what does this say about our soul? Do we think we shall escape the judgment of God, if we continue in sin? No, we shouldn’t expect God’s grace and mercy. There is not unique about us, and our light has become dim. Our young ladies need something to look forward to. So does our young man, they need the message, you don’t have to become apart of the crowd to reap God’s Blessing.
As long we apart of the crowd, we will never become the living witness God intended. “I Beseech you, Brethren by the mercies of God, present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”
Everyday, we are commanded by god to live Holy. Our lives are to be a living example. Every day, the ministry is being criticized because of the mixed message of the church. And we have to start letting our light shine so that God can get the glory out of our lives. And God cannot get the glory if there isn’t a difference between the two.
