You may find your cup filled to the brim
With life’s pleasures, hardship or strife
And sometimes your cup runneth over
With the many worldly facets of life.
On the cross Jesus prayed to his father
With a heavy heart his head and eyes looked up
He asked for a blessing if it were God’s will
That he might be relieved of the cup.
Through life we are confronted with our cup
Fill with our trials, temptations and stress
These cups may taste bitter and sometimes nasty
These situations may put our faith to the test.
Foul tasting cups are not always a bad thing
In the long run it may teach endurance and strength
Keep the faith that God will get you through it
Are you willing to trust God at any length.
You may feel that your cup runneth over
Things have gotten so bad you’re losing hope
God will not allow more than you can handle
Pray diligently for strength so you can cope.
Know that God truly loves his children
He wants them to prosper with the very best
No matter how bad the cup may taste
You trust in God and he’ll handle the rest.
