So very slow on the uptake,
I wanna hit my lifeís brakes.
Just step out of it, take in the breeze.
To step away from this disease.
The climb, so hard to take a breath.
Wanting to stop and take a rest.
But if I did, Iím sure Iíd drop,
Fall asleep, a timeless nod.
Seems so hard to stop and smile.
I last did that back many a mile.
If I laughed, Iíd carry on.
Iíd love to laugh Ďtil Iím undone.
Even a cry would help me so.
It might even help me grow.
The sun comes up and goes away.
No words left, nothing to say.
An uptake of another kind comes,
Timeís brakes stop my tiring run.
Iím lightning flashing through the breeze,
Flying away from the disease.
Climbing so easy, canít catch my breath,
Iím moving up, finding my rest.
Loving the flight not fearing a drop.
My past falls asleep, eternal nod.
Seems so hard to stop my smile.
Seems Iím forgetting all my miles.
I start to laugh, it carries on.
Laughing and laughing, Iím redone.
Then comes a cry, freeing me so.
It seems I need to no longer grow.
Iím with the Lord, not going away.
His sight leaves me with nothing to say.
