When election time is upon us, you are sure to hear all sorts of topics among the people. Who to vote for? Who not to vote for? I have listened to a minister doing a series, not from a political forum; it is neither from a Republican point of view nor a Democratic view. He simply presents the facts from God's point of view from the Bible. So, for Christians, the choice should be pretty easy.
As Christians, we must vote God's conscious. Regardless of the party to which you belong or to which you want to change, you have to see the man and for what he stands. Perhaps we should ask ourselves these questions. Who is for the sanctity of human life? Who is against sexual perversion? What does the Bible say on some of the issues? I am sure the question of the war in Iraq is going to come up and yes, I have my opinions. I believe the war was necessary. The terrorists do not have any rights in America, nor any place else. I also believe in freeing people from dictatorship. Our country has been free since 9-11 and we have had a President who said he would defend us, and he has done so. He does not say one thing and mean something else. You clearly know for what he stands. Isn't that how we are to be as Christians, standing up for what we believe?
I know we have lost lives in Iraq, and even if my son had gone there I would have felt the same and I told him so. He said "Mother, I believe in fighting for a cause, for what matters.” People don't get the facts and they tend to believe everything the media says, taking it as the gospel truth. There is only one true Gospel. The Bible. We all must remember one thing about the media, TV or newspapers, "Good News" doesn't sell. I have heard men and women say they would go back over there; they say the people want us over there to help them, and unfortunately you will never hear that on the news.
Both Democrats and Republicans agreed for the war in Iraq, now one of those parties wants us to pull out. Yet, timing is everything.
Much more is at stake when you visit the polls on November 4th to cast your vote. What will you do?
What about the sanctity of life, and God’s rule for marriage, one man and one woman? We cannot ignore the truth, the truth which sets us free.
When it comes to our homeland, I would not take risks to vote for someone that may or may not protect it.
It is a person's right to vote, but also it is our duty as Christians to stand behind the man who follows God's laws. Get your voters' guide from the Bible and vote your convictions, plain and simple.
