AVOIDING EMPTY CHATTER AND GOSSIP

2 Timothy 2:16-17 NAS "Avoid worldly chatter, for ill lead to further ungodliness, and thier talk will spread like gangrene."

I am told that gangrene is a ugly sight. A blight that spreads quickly, if not placed in check.

But what about all those gossips and rumor spreaders who live among us? Why are they so hard at work to discredit others and spread ugly vision lies?

The truth, lies and the truth cannot dwell in the same place, thus the old nature, the nasty side of us that still lives in us opens itself up to listen to the ugly things of life.

We need not be a part of the nasty, ugly rumor mills in our work place, at school, in the community, and, yes....even within the walls of the church. HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH DESTROYING THE LIFE AND CHARACTER OF OTHERS...for the Lord watches over us and will judge those who are malicious liars and destroyers of life.

Instead of being a destroyer, deliberately be a person who encourages others. You will feel better about yourself and the example you leave for others is valuable.
