You , O Lord,
You alone are my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will never be shaken. (Psalm 62:2)
You hear all who are in need,
never forsaking the lost who call out Your name.
We might stumble but will not fall into death’s grip.
Death has no hold on anyone whose hope is in the Lord,
and whose faith is like that of a child.
It is faith in You alone which saves.
Who can keep shut once shown such mercy
it becomes our duty to speak out
and become part of this great commission.
You conquered death through ressurection
and now the gift of eternal life belongs to all believing in You.
“I give them eternal life and they will never perish.
No one will snatch them away from me for my Father
has given them to Me and He is more powerful than anyone else.
So no one can take them from Me. The Father and I are one. (John 10:28-30)
Lift up the voice of Your redeemed, O Lord,
that others may find you for
How can they call on You to save them unless they believe in You?
And how can they believe in You if they have never heard about You?
And how can they hear about You unless someone tells them?
And how can anyone go and tell them without being sent? (Romans 10:14)
The foundation is laid, the cornerstone set,
Nothing in all creation can move it or break it.
Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean,
Nothing in all creation can ever separate us from Your love, O Lord,
which You revealed in Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:39)
Mockings, trials, persecutions, and hardships are a great honor,
for You have gone before us and follow closely behind,
surrounding us with Your mighty power
at work within us, You are able to accomplish
more than we would ever dare to ask and hope.
Though there will always be temptations,
we know how terrible it will be for those who do the tempting. (Luke 17:1)
Knowing this, Father, I rest easy,
and their words and taunts reassure me of all I believe.
Now propel us forward, Father,
I ask this in Jesus’ name,
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty,
Who was, and is and is to come.
