When the world crumbles all around
and the bottom falls out of our lives. . .
When nothing but trouble seems to tumble
like stones on our small pile of rubble. . .
God is there to help us replace the destruction
with an enduring new piece of construction.
He bids us dig deep with patience and care
to where the Solid Rock awaits us there.
He beckons us daily to go to His Word
where foundations are steadfastly clear
and seek diligently His Voice to hear –
with all of our being and all of our will
to strive with our living His Words to fulfill.
If on the Solid Rock our foundation is laid,
we can face all the floods and tempests unafraid.
When He is our Rock, so firm and so sure,
We can meet the stormy times and endure.
