“And who knows but that you have come to a royal position for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14
Our world is in economic, emotional and spiritual crisis. But do you know that God has put you on a special assignment for such a time as this?
But you may ask, “How do I know what our Heavenly Father wants me to do?”
When I was a new Christian , I remember asking a preacher, “How do I know God’s will for my life?” What I really wanted to ask was, “ What is God’s purpose for creating me?” He quoted Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed any longer to the patterns of the world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is- His good and perfect will.” Well, being a new Christian then, I thought that was a tough verse. I didn’t know what it meant. How do I renew my mind? As a self-proclaimed enthusiastic reader of the Word, I began to slowly understand how important it is to know God and please Him.
The world’s patterns and methods maybe enticing, but they may not please God. We may seek approval of others and feel good about ourselves but if we are not pleasing God, we may not be able to fulfill our “assignment” or God’s purpose for us.
What an awesome opportunity it is to be used by God for His work. Do you know that His work are not just meant for pastors and missionaries? “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9
God can use ordinary people like us to do extraordinary work for Him. To be used as His ambassadors , let’s pause and ask ourselves these questions:
1. How well do I know my Master? Am I spending time with Him by reading the Scriptures, praying and worshiping Him everyday of my life?
2. How well do I know myself? Am I humble enough to submit to God acknowledging that I am nothing without Him? Is my pride getting in the way of my faith?
3. How well do I know others? Am I treating others well enough the way I want to be treated?
4. How well do I love God? Others? Myself?
We can all make a difference if we humbly submit to God’s leading. Election Day is coming soon. One vote makes a difference. But better still, one heartfelt prayer for the right candidate for this ailing nation will do miracles. It’s part of our royal privilege as children of The King to raise our voices to Heaven.
Dear Almighty God, Creator of Heaven and Earth, please hear the voices of Your people. May we humble ourselves and return to You. Have mercy on us and forgive us of our iniquities. Unite us all Lord for the greater good. Give us spiritual discernment in making the right choices. Help us to make a difference in such a time like this. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Very well said. Jesus said "my sheep know my voice"...as we spend time in the word with Him we will recognize his voice...and if we are wise, we will obey. Yes, each of us has our part to accomplish our assignment and one vote can make a difference. Thanks for sharing...GOD BLESS YOU
Oh Sis Gloria thank you so much for this beautiful and well written article. I want to join you in your prayer for our nation. And may God help us see our potential for such a time as this. I love you, Sharon
A very timely message, Gloria. Yes, our prayer for our nations is beneficial and a command from God. I was reading in Jeremiah the warnings God gave to His people--promises for obeying and warnings for disobeying. They didn't heed Jeremiah's warning from God and they suffered the consequenses. So will our nations, if they don't heed....Great deliverance of the message...God bless you...Helen
