33 Teach me, O LORD, to follow your decrees;
then I will keep them to the end.
34 Give me understanding, and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart.
35 Direct me in the path of your commands,
for there I find delight.
Tragedy, disaster, adversity, calamity, trauma, loss. You can be left struggling with questions. Can any good come from suffering? How can that happen? Can anyone take your confusion and make sense of it all? Is that impossible? Can anyone turn your life around and make life worth living? Oh, that is were so.
When you ask if there is something to live for, God wants you to know that there is someone to live for--God. You can live for God, because he can take your confusion and anger and create something beautiful. He can wash away your loneliness and redeem your losses. He can bring meaning to your life simply by reminding you that you are created in his image
God, thank you for the meaning and purpose you bring to my life. Thank you for allowing me to surrender my sorrow to you so that you can replace it with hope and happiness. I can truly live for you. In Jesus' name. Amen.
