"Wait on the Lord, be strong, take heart, and wait in the Lord."-Psalm 27:14 The Holy Spirit showed me this analogy of waiting on perfection. I was thinking about eggrolls(or insert your favorite oven baked food here!!),. and how you absolutly have to make sure that you keep them in the oven for the reccomended amount of time, or they will not be perfect. Nothing is as delicious as a perfectly baked eggroll(or pie, quiche, whatever!), However, if we grow impatient and take our food out of the oven before the time we are told to, we do not have the perfect dish, rather an uncooked, raw, unappetizing one. when we do not follow the directions on how long to wait, our end product is never as it should be. So it is with waiting on the Lord. If we are overzealous to see the end product before He is ready, we will always be disappointed, because the result will be a less than perfect one, such as the uncooked frozen food taken out of the oven too soon......a half frozen eggroll is not one to be desired, nor is a half finished product of the "good and perfect plan" that God has for us". We have no problem letting the oven do its job, but often we have quite a hard time waiting on the Master to perfect His will in us. In our impatience, and hurry to see the end result, we often take it out of the Lords hands far before it is ready, and end up with much less than He has planned for us. He wants us to allow Him to prepare our future the way HE wants to, so we will never be disappointed but always blessed beyond measure, more than we could imagine, or ever do on our own. The next time you enjoy an eggroll(or any other tasty oven baked item), remember that God is "cooking" the amazing blessings He has for you, which you shall reap in due time, His time!!! love,Jamie
