The Odysseus voyaged on through the Aegean. There were few incidents except when an Italian torpedo boat dropped by. Fortunatly the captain only wanted to buy some fish.
As his boat speed away, Asher said,"It's to bad we can't tell that guy when this is over. I'd love to see his face."
David replied,"He might have just missed the promotion he was waiting for, poor fellow."
Asher returned,"Yes, to bad isn't it?"
They dropped off the rifles to some friendly partisans then voyaged back to Istanbul.
When they got off there were three Turkish "Emniyet" agents waiting for them.
One of them grinned,"Good evening Asher, good evening David. How's the olive oil business doing?"
Another smiled,"Good business for a small trading concern based in Palestine, eh?"
Asher then said, "It's doing as fine as ever."
The man replied, "Yes, plenty of olive oil about nowadays. No one seems to have enough."
David then asked,"If you want a share, I'm sure our supervisors can arrange something."
The Turk smiled, "Oh I should think there's no need of that. We just wish to make sure we keep an eye on everyone's business arrangements. After all, we wouldn't want anyone to sell to much olive oil without our knowledge, now would we?"
When they left Asher grimaced, "That was a close one, I wonder how they knew?"
David sighed, "They're the Emniyet. They always know."
Asher then said,"And of course they wanted to make sure we knew they knew. Well, that was a mite embarrassing."
David shrugged, "Win a few, lose a few."
