is a poem I wrote that honors our soldiers and that I am sharing with Mrs. Shealy's First Grade class at Ninety Six Primary School in Ninety Six, S C…
I am dedicating this poem to two soldiers who serve and who will most likely never meet the students in this class but ultimately make it possible for these children to know freedom today…
I met Gregory and Carol in Greenville, S C when I was shopping...They were on their way to California from Fort Bragg...They service the helicopters that are used in protecting our country...
I mentioned to them that I was on my way to be a guest on WGGS Channel 16 and invited them to watch...They told me that they were staying at a motel as they were traveling through the area...They too said that they would watch the program...
I made it a point to thank them for their service and to tell them that I would dedicate a scrapbook that I am making for Mrs. Shealy's First Grade Class at Ninety Six Primary in Ninety Six, S C, to them...This was the beginning of this poem...
May this poem bless you as you read it and especially all the soldiers who protect our country…
It is through the efforts of our soldiers that our children and all others are blessed with freedom each and every day in this country…
_____
We are free...
Dedicated to Gregory and Carol
Two of our soldiers
Our soldiers
Protect us each
And every day --
They keep us safe
At home
And far away…
Our soldiers
Teach us
What honor means --
They provide us freedom
And
Protect our dreams…
We are grateful
To be free
And we appreciate
Them for each day
We see...
We would like to tell them
Thank you for all they do
And to let them know
We appreciate them too…
