Have you ever really considered a spider web and it’s purpose? What about what the little spider has to do to make the web?
The little spider finds a good spot and toils for a very long time to make a web. It may be hot or cold, wet or dry, but he seems to get the job done. His life really depends on it. There is so much air space around the web that many of his prey will never even get near the web. Yet, by faith he works hard and prepares the web, because if he doesn’t he would die.
Spiritually speaking, God has us prepare many things. We seem to go through obstacle after obstacle in order for us to make our web. But we must have tenacity and keep our focus on the task at hand. We may get hungry along the way, just as the little spider, but if we don’t complete the preparation that God has ordained, we will starve spiritually or even physically. Our preparation includes many things. We must draw near to God. We must not allow any outside distractions to take our focus away from the task at hand. We must spend our time in prayer and intercession. We must spend much time in worship and praise. We must discipline our self to stay unspotted from the world and all the temptations that come to change our focus from kingdom thoughts into fleshly thoughts. We must read God‘s word, as it is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. If we will stay our course and not allow the distractions to effect our vision, then our web will get built. We do all this by faith of course as it takes faith to please the Lord. Faith says, that God will provide what we need. Just as the little spider really builds his web by faith that something will fly into it and be caught. What we catch though is God’s power and anointing that will also bring His blessings. We may be thirsty in the beginning of the task, but God said that he that is thirsty he will give water that will cause us to never thirst again.
Though the struggle to build may seem difficult and at times maybe hopeless, if we will continue and do our part, God will do His. We can count on God, as He is very faithful to fulfill His promises. The little spider won’t go hungry, and neither will we.
