Psalm 145 (New King James Version)
A Praise of David.
10 All Your works shall praise You, O LORD,
And Your saints shall bless You.
11 They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom,
And talk of Your power,
12 To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts,
And the glorious majesty of His kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
Heaven is usually spoken of as a faraway place that you reach only at the end of a godly life. But God's reign over all that He created is right here in the present day, before your eyes and under your nose. Place your trust in Him and in His commandments.
You don't have to wait for heaven to draw near to God, to experience His love, and to do His will. Everything you need is available by faith and grace. God has given you the tools to know him--Scripture, prayer, communities of faithful believers, acts of love, peace and mercy. All of these pull you toward your true center and spiritual home with God. The foretastes of heaven are abundant if you open your heart to see them.
Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Psalm 34:8
Prayer:
God, open my eyes to see Your goodness and mercy in the midst of life. Thank You for giving me a taste of the good things yet to come. In Jesus' name, Amen.
