The Birdsong 3/7/08
In the dead of night,
In the pouring rain,
The bird is still singing her song.
With feathers wet,
No light to guide,
She sits,
And sweetly sings.
Is that not how we
Are supposed to be
When in the pit of despair,
When the bleakest nights
Have crowded in,
The path unseen?
At this time
The Lord has said, "Wait,
Have faith,
Listen and watch for Me."
Be like the bird
That carries on,
Trusting that all is well.
Our Almighty God
Is still in control
And His promises never fail.
