Its Valentines Day and 29 years have gone by,
I think back in time and don’t have to ask why,
God put us together to walk through this life,
To raise up two children with you as my wife.
From the beginning God’s hand was plain to see,
He molded and shaped us to what we were to be,
He gave us a love that only He can instill,
He gave us new life, two kids were our fill.
We did our best to give them foundation,
In Christ Jesus, we taught them the Lord of creation,
As time passed on, they grew up and moved away,
And through it all God has taught us to pray.
Just as from the beginning, He was there for you and me,
He put you in my life to help set me free.
Some men look at marriage and think they are trapped,
But I know that for certain that it’s just a bad rap.
And now here today we sit and we share,
Of times from the past, both good and despair,
When health issues challenged & financial disaster,
You stood by my side with much wisdom and laughter.
Now time passes on with blessings too many to count,
Through the eyes of Christ Jesus we watch them mount,
We face life together always looking ahead,
But never forgetting by whose hand we were led.
I focus right now my thoughts on today,
To come up with the right words for which I would say,
I love you my darling, my partner, my wife,
For now and forever as we walk through this life.
As we look to the future, with much anticipation,
And as we remember and learn from things of the past,
I pray we will never loose our imagination,
Or our faith in Christ Jesus, the only thing that will last.
