There was a father who loved his son very much, the father worked as a bridge operator in one of the big rivers. The bridge was meant for the trains to cross the river. But it would also open up when ships cross by and the father's job was to pull the lever back to let the bridge lower to its normal position.

One day his little son wanted to come along to see his father in action. He was in awe as a ship had just passed by, he quickly climbed up the bridge to have a better view. His father told him to return but he did not hear. Soon the father heard a beep from his small control room and he knew it was time for the 5 o clock train to pass by now. His little son could not hear the father call him as the sound of the wind and the water was more than the father's warning call. Finally the father could see the train come and he had to lower the bridge, his son still on the edge of the bridge, he very well knew if he pull the lever his son will be crushed to death, but if he doesn't the thousands in the train will drown in the water. No choice left, with a big cry, he pulled the lever. The train crossed the river safely... crushing the little boy to pieces.

God gave His only begotten son to save our lives.

Recently the persecutions in India reminds me of this same scene as people tortured and even crushed to death, the only reason of being a Christian. I think, I can imagine how Jesus would feel to see His children persecuted. But my God has a purpose for all these things, everything works for good for those who LOVE HIM

Amen!!
