A cup of coffee
For a moment of silence
Take a sip and cherish the taste
Let time be lost for just a second
While it refresh your mind and touch your lip
Permit its warmth to linger awhile
Allow its smell to subdue your thoughts
For Just a moment, take a sip
Let it last and stay, till you awake
And return to work that makes you think
To the labor that vanish the quiet moment
When your soul just loiters and idles away
Allow those quiet moments
Be spent with God
Let your Spirit be lifted to his Grace
And though the coffee eases your mind
May God’s word renew your thoughts
And feed the hunger of your soul
Till you are full with delight
Hope, love and encouragement
For the purpose of growth
That the life you spent
Will be of greater value
Than the work you do of the moment
