I arrived on this earth
over fifty years ago—
born to loving parents,
beautiful and precious,
yet imperfect and flawed,
a child of the earth
and the human race,
born to love and live,
succeed and fail,
rise up and fall down.
Like a seed—
full of potential—
I was planted on this earth,
nurtured and watered
to grow and bloom.
As a child of God
I am born in spirit and truth,
born into the family of God
to love and serve,
heal and forgive,
bring peace and joy.
A branch on my Father’s vine
I am nurtured and watered,
pruned when necessary
to grow and bear fruit.
Born on this earth,
my body aging,
I am waiting to be born—
for my soul to cast off
this earthly shell
as a seed bursts from its pod,
in full bloom,
bearing rich fruit,
free of doubts and fears,
dwelling in the presence
of my God forever.
