be born
when he is old?

(Irritated look.)
Come ON!
YOU know WHY!"
[PATIENT GAZE.]
"Tell Me."
"You KNOW!"
[TEASING SMILE!]
"I'm listening,
little one."
(Squirm.)
"You know:
about.......Ya know."
[SMILE!]
"No.
What."
(Ironic squint.)
"YOU..... know!"
[PATIENT SMILE.]
(Close eyes.)
"I can't talk about it."
[PATIENT NOD.]
(Look away.)
"It's too, eh.......PERSONAL."
[LOVING GAZE.]
"I saw you being born,
child."
(Burst out laughing!)
"OY!
YIKES!
ECH!"
[SOLEMN NOD.]
"Yeah;
I was a BREECH birth!
YIKES!"
(Grimmace.)
[PATIENT NOD.]
"So......I guess,
this is like the same
thing, Lord."
[SMILE.]
"What is,
My child."
"This, eh......
being BORN again?
For ME?
A JEWISH person?
(Grimmace!)
It's.....kinda like a
breech birth:
real CLUMSY.....
and PAINFUL!"
"Yes, My beloved.
[PATIENT PAUSE.]
But,
Who is your Deliverer?"
