Have you ever given much thought about having a life that would pleasing to God? What would it take to have a life that was filled with peace, love, joy, and contentment no matter what happened during your day? Perhaps the Scriptures below will help you discover something about yourself and the Lord that you have been seeking in your life.
ESV - [Finally, then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to live to please God just as you are doing, that you do so more and more. For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. For THIS IS the will of God, your sanctification:
that you abstain from sexual immorality; that
each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and to honor, not in the pasion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you. For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness. 1 Thessalonians 4:1-7]
Seems like a tall order doesn't it...live more like Christ and less like the way that you were before you came to know and believe in Christ. But we can do it with the assistance of the Holy Spirit that lives within us, God's gift to those who believe so that we might better understand and learn what God wants of those who believe in Him. Remember first to seek God, then to ask Him to show you how to be the person He desires you to be. He will respond to you when you ask Him to show His will for you to follow Christ 24/7 ...God wants us to join with Him on our walk of faith and understand more about His love and His concern for us as we impact the people in our little corner of the world.
