I still hear the sound of your small voice echo in my head
Singing splendid lullabies from the comfort of my bed
I feel your warm and tender lips still kiss me sweet goodnight
And your reassuring smile in the glow of the moonlight
I remember your sweet sympathy how you always understood
And your evenhanded discipline applied for my own good
And even when I made mistakes you stood right by my side
Always constant not unlike a starlight in the sky
You were my encouragement through all the doubt and fear
And you always seemed to say the words that I needed to hear
You were my strength in life’s adversity my vigor in travail
And regarded me a champion even when I’d fail
Without complaint or ire you saw every challenge through
And gave all that you could to those less fortunate than you
A bastion for the community a friend to those in need
A selfless sacrifice so that another may succeed
But time collects the moments, and all the hours in the day
And like a thief time selfishly hides them all away
Now reason slows but won’t surrender least not without a fight
thoughts feign as senses wane but God keeps holding tight
But now I see it all so clearly as I look into your eyes
Faith is everlasting and true love never dies
You’re my continued inspiration in a world burdened with regret
Mom, you may not remember but I will not forget
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
