THE AROMA OF LIFE
"But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.
For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life." 2 Corinthians 2:14-16a ESV
So how do you smell today? Does your Christian life have an aroma that people would want to duplicate?
OR --- Does your walk with Christ S-T-I-N-K ? Are you wishy washy, unfaithful to your commitment to Christ, or do you just not give a "hoot" about what eternity is going to be like for you? Have you commited your life to live for Christ alone and let Him be the Lord of your life?
In the span of life our mark and our time in this world is very brief. Whether a person believes in the Lord or not does not change who God is and what God has in store for each person who is born on this earth. God will judge the good and the bad, the wicked and the kind, the unbeliever and the believer and God will give to each person a chance to account to Him a testimony of - What we believe about Jesus. What will you say to God about who Jesus is to you in your heart and your life? How will you smell and look before God who judges us by His standard? It is my hope and prayer that you will have the fragrance of Christ, the sweet smell of forgiveness through the salvation that only Christ can give when that time comes.
It's not by works. It's not who you are. It's not by who you want people to think you are but who you are when God looks upon your heart that will determine where you will spend eternity. "I hope I'm good enough," won't do. " I've worked hard enough and tried to be a good person," won't do either. For we are not saved by works or by impressions we leave behind but we are saved by faith and belief in salvation through Christ alone that matters!
