Replacing The Holy Spirit
I can look back into my life and I can see that there were times when I replaced the Holy Spirit with the works of the flesh. What I mean is, I attempted to do in my life what Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to do. There are certain things in our Christian life that we just cannot accomplish in our own efforts’ and strength. “ The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” How many of us attempt to teach our selves the word of God. Scriptures tells us that; “ Eye hath not see, nor hear heard, neither hath entered into the heart of man, the things that God has prepared for them that love Him, But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things, the deep things of God” The things of God are revealed by the Spirit of God, so it is He that teaches me about God. What do we know about God ?
There was a time in my life when I attempted to live for God in my own strength, failing miserably. I had to learn that it is the Holy Spirit that takes hold of my weakness and turn them into strength, for scriptures declares: “ Likewise the Spirit takes hold of our infirmities” our weaknesses. If you are failing to live for Christ effectively it because you are attempting it in your own strength. Peter informs us in his epistle: “ Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit to unfeigned love of the brethren. The only way to obey God is with the help of the Holy Spirit. That is His job, not mine. How is your prayer life? Are you attempting to reach heaven without the help of the Holy Spirit? Listen to the word of God. “ For through Him {Jesus Christ} we both { Jews & Gentiles} have access by one Spirit to the Father. We have access to the Father by the Holy Spirit, you do not have access to God through you own methods.
I am so blessed with the fact that I have come to a place in my life that I allow the Holy Spirit to guide me through all of life. I have learned to pay attention to the word of God which tells me that: “ However when He, the Spirit of truth is come, He will guide you into all truth”. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to guide me through life, if I will allow Him to do this. Jesus Himself was lead of the Holy Spirit, to be lead also means to be guided. If he could guide the Master, surely He can guide me. Did you know that worship brings us into the presence of God. When God is worshiped, He comes on the scene. But are you worshiping Him properly ? “ God is a Spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. It is the Holy Spirit that prepares my spirit for the worship of a holy God. There is no way that I can prepare myself after being exposed to the filth of the flesh and the world. It is the Holy Spirit that cleanses my heart and mind, preparing me for worship. Have you replaced the works of the Holy Spirit with the works of the Flesh? I pray that you have not.
