“Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm” (Ephesians 6:13).
People are falling in this present time with tremendous pressure coming at them. satan is in the last stages of preparing an onslaught against God’s people. The father with a family must stand in the presence of alluring women that assault him daily. The single mother continues to stand when the absence of a father figure is needed for her children’s future blessings. The businessman stands when the economy is stacked against him/her and their company is responsible to the many families working for them.
The remainder of Ephesians, Chapter 6, tells us how to stand:
Truth and righteousness will keep us standing.
Declaring peace to others.
Faith will stop any enemy’s arrows that intend to bring us harm.
Accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior and using his Word is our defense.
Praying for others with perseverance brings relief as well as praying for those in leadership to receive revelation.
In summary, powers of darkness intend to destroy our souls; however, spending each moment with God is our salvation to stand firm and tall and position ourselves to receive protection. Christians must stand and let their lives reveal Christ instead of blending into the rest of society. People must identify the enemy of their souls and run from its influence. People with vision must not give up so that others will benefit from their revelations. Failure is never final – it just indicates what doesn’t work.
The heavens declare the glory of God and that glorious sound is what we should be listening for. In this evil day we should stand firm in whatever God has called us to do and not waver into sin when the going gets tough.
Father, thank you for providing a way to live among adverse circumstances and the pressures of this present evil world. Help us look to a future in your presence for eternity.
