Voyage of the Spirit 7/15/08
I don't drift off like flotsam,
For I'm God's own holy vessel,
But even though I'm anchored,
In the open seas I wrestle.
Tightly moored at the dockside,
I cannot His will fulfill,
So into the deep I venture,
And pray for the waters to still.
I know my ship will be tossed
About, sometimes to and fro,
But the Captain steering the boat
Will His masterful ways show.
On the voyage of the spirit,
The winds may whip and they may wail.
Though my craft be worn and weathered,
On the ocean it will sail.
From the open seas, back to port,
At times there I must find my rest,
Back again to the stormy waves,
Where my Pilot shows me His best.
