A patch of sun on the forest floor,
briefly illuminating,
accentuating textures and colors,
bringing forth hidden treasures
out of shadows and darkness.
On silent feet
it quickly glides
across the woodland floor,
finding new places to illuminate,
like a spotlight on a stage.
As Christ’s lights in this world,
we are patches of sun
called to shine in a dark
and shadowy world,
illuminating others,
bringing forth hidden treasures
in each soul,
shining a spotlight
on all that is
beautiful and lovely
in each person.
